Madeleine Roux
There is not much said about writer Madeleine Roux, an author that writes thrilling-mysterious novels. She was born in the 80’s, during a time when the eyes of the public were influenced by many horror films and novels from the end of the 70’s and the 80’s, including Amityville Horror and Awakening. There were moments when I felt a little scared as the author was really good at presenting some paranormal things in the characters' dorm.
Science fiction was a big business at that time and it became more sophisticated in the late 90s and in the year 2000. There were many tragedies that took place at the time when Madeleine Roux lived, which most had been a big influence in her life and writings. The novel is narrated through the eyes of the character by the name of Dan Crawford, a young man who experiences doubt about his role injuring one of the four main characters, Felix.
I also see a connection between the author, Madeleine Roux, and the character Abby Valdez. She was the one of the three friends that convinced the others to go down to the Brookline to see what was down there. This character felt a connection with the drawing of a girl that she found, she was obsessed with it and kept drawing it. She just wanted to know more and more, and that is the link between her and writer Madeleine Roux, they both had this in common.
I see the author in the character. She seems to have a sense of finding something that she’s not even sure about. It can be scary, but at the end it is not what it seemed. I wonder i’d Madeleine Roux ever experienced something like what the characters when through. Every chapter was very exciting until the end of the book, making the readers want to read more and more. This was a really good book.
